Indiana Trip!

Kellen in his suit!

This post is WAY over due!!! Life just has not slowed down enough for me to sit down and write about our trip! Kellen did so good in the car, he slept for a good portion of the trip...on the way up to Indiana we made it in 9 hours with an hour stop half way there for lunch! Kellen was probably awake for about 2 of those hours all together and not all at once! Cousin Ansley also did great in the car! She talked to Uncle Matt for a while and it was so cute! :) As for me I read most of the way there...thank goodness I do not get carsick! As for the visit, it was way to fast and filled with family fun!

On Thursday after arriving we had time for a quick shower and then we were off to Russ and Ava's for a quick visit before dinner. Russ and Ava took all of us out for pizza at what Matt calls the BEST pizza ever. It is a place called Arnie's...normally we would bring some back frozen, but there was no room this trip! We were also joined by Matt's uncle Jeff and aunt Marilyn and cousin's Kyle and Kaitlin. It was a lot of fun and the first time Jeff and Marilyn and the kids got to meet Kellen! We were all ready to crash as soon as we got back to the hotel! Kellen did not sleep really great that night, but I think that he was a little confused about his surroundings. So he was up about every hour and the hotel air conditioner sounded like a helicopter landing in our room! Needless to say I did not get a lot of sleep that night!

Friday morning we slept in a little (well Matt and Kellen did)...I did not go back to sleep after Kellen woke up at 5 to eat! We had breakfast with Marquitta and Ansley. Soon it was time to check out and we were heading over to Uncle Jeff's house to see Matt's cousin Jennifer that was not able to come to dinner the night before. It was nice to sit and visit with them. When we left there we had a little bit of time to kill before we needed to head to Turkey Run State Park were Matt's cousin was getting married! So we went to Target and who can not kill some time in there! :) Soon enough it was time to get back in the car to make the hour drive to the Turkey Run. There was this neat little Inn and some cabins that we were all staying at...I do have to say though that if there is a next time that it is a must to stay in the Inn. The cabins are a little rustic and that is putting it VERY nicely! Let's just say that the cabin had an automatic air freshener that you would find in a public bathroom that would go off every 30 minutes or so!

Great Grandma Martha meeting Kellen for the 1st time!

We had time to freshen up a bit and then it was time to head to the rehearsal dinner. They grilled out some hamburgers and hotdogs and all the fixen's! The best part was to get to see everyone! Matt's grandma Martha was there and she got to meet Kellen for the first time. It was so fun! Matt's Uncle Lance and Aunt Tauni was there from California! I so want to go visit them and have told Matt that is where I would like to go to for our 5 year Anniversary! :) It didn't take long for my lack of sleep to soon catch up with me and Matt and I headed back to the cabin to hopefully get some sleep! Kellen slept much better that night and so did I!

On Saturday Matt and Andy went on a canoe trip and Kellen and I hung out outside the inn! It was absolutely beautiful there and the weather was quite nice! :) Kellen and I had lunch with Crystal, Ansley and Marquitta. Matt and Andy got back not long after that and it was time to get ready for the wedding! Kellen looked so cute in his suit! I was so worried how he was going to be at the ceremony...he screamed for an entire hour before the wedding. I felt so bad, because he was so tired and Matt and I were scrambling to get ready. As soon as we started walking to the wedding he fell asleep and slept the entire ceremony! :) The rest of the night was filled with dancing and eating and drinking WAY to much wine! :)

Sunday morning came way to fast and way too early! We hurried and packed up everything and had a little scare as I could not find my wedding ring! But it was exactly where Matt told me to look! Then we were off. It took about 9 hours to get home. Kellen did really well in the car. We didn't make it back in time for the rental car, so we had to pay for an extra day, but oh well, what can you do?

All in all it was a wonderful trip! We had a lot of fun and the car ride was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Thanks for all the prayers for a safe and sane trip! :)

Kellen has had a lot of "firsts" this last week...first cereal, first haircut, first time at the pool, and first time with a babysitter (I got a new job and started last Thursday). So I am hoping to find time later this week to post some cute pictures from all his new "firsts"!!! Until then gave a GREAT week!
