6 Months

Look at me I am 6 months old!

Oh my baby is growing up. Today at the Dr's we found out that Kellen is 28 inches and weighs 19 lbs 14 oz. Matt and I were betting on at least 20 lbs!!! Kellen received 4 shots and one oral vaccination. He did so good...he cried for about 30 seconds and then was done. We did find out that he had a bilateral hernia. The Dr said that this is a common thing and the cause is unknown. We were referred to a Pediatric Surgeon. He also told us that it was a quick outpatient procedure. He made it sound like we have nothing to worry about. Of course as a parent I am still worried a little. I mean thinking of my little man under anesthesia makes me worry a little! The Dr said that it would not be very painful for Kellen, because of his age, so I guess that is a plus. Kellen also had a vision exam to check for lazy eye. She said that he passed with flying colors. The Dr said that he is perfectly healthy otherwise and he can tell that Kellen never misses a meal! :)What I do???

Kellen is really trying to crawl...he gets up on all fours and will rock back and forth...it is too cute! :) He is still sleeping very well. We put him down around 8ish and he will sleep some mornings till 7, but that is very rare. Most of the time he is up between 5 and 6. You can just see his little brain working when you talk to him...he is exploring everything...I often find that his mobile will turn on by itself ;) or that it will be changed to nature sounds from the classical music. He loves to roll under the table and it almost looks like he is "fixin" something! He is babbling up a storm these days and you can tell he really wants to talk, but just can't figure out how to make it work!Jump...Jump...Jump
Kellen's favorite thing to do!

As far as eating goes he is pretty easy. He seems to love all food except peaches. I tried to give him avocado this weekend, but he was not too sure about them...I figured I would try them again later. I figured I would try to venture out a little a try some broccoli and asparagus soon! :) He loves his oatmeal and even prunes. He has become very interested in the spoon and trying to feed himself! :) I am beginning to wear a lot more of his food due to the fact he loves to do raspberries at ALL times!Look at my two teeth! :o)

Our little man is growing so fast. He is a blessing each and every day! I can not imagine my life with out him. Matt and I are still in awe that we have a child. There really is no greater love than the love that I feel for Kellen! The smile on his face can mean even the heaviest heart!Telling Mommy about my day!

Time...

It has been so long!!! Where has July gone??? :o) What have we been up to??? Really not much, you can tell by the looks of my house, I swear the dust is close to a foot deep!

Kellen got to spend a week with Grandma Dee right after the 4th. They went to the Zoo and to the Library...Kellen read a banana book! Auntie Jerilyn and Kellen enjoy playing all day and napping too! :) He loves to watch their cats Jack and Hyde. They will actually let Kellen get close to them, unlike our two old ladies, Skyler and Holly. I know that I will sure miss Auntie Jerilyn coming over every day to watch Kellen when he starts daycare on July 31st.

(Does it not look like he is saying "Do you mind, I am trying to read")
He now has two teeth!!! They are so cute, I will have to try and get a picture of them! :) Kellen continues to enjoy his veggies and has now even added fruit to the mix. So far the only thing that he will not eat is Peaches...he does not like them. I am convinced that he doesn't really like carrots either...I wore most of them the last time I gave them to him! :) Since learning how to roll over Kellen has not stopped. If we lay him down and walk away you can bet he will not be in the same place when you get back! Grandma Dee learned this lesson during the week that she spent with him. She laid him down on his activity mat and went into the kitchen...when she came back, Kellen was gone...he was underneath the coffee table!!! It is so funny to watch him...he looks like a little frog when he is on his tummy. He will kick and kick his legs when he gets excited. :) His new thing is getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. Our little boy is not so little any more.

On Monday, we have Kellen's 6 month check up...I am curious to see how much he has grown and how much he weighs now. Next week will be a big week...It will be Auntie Jerilyn's last week with little man. He will go to a half day of daycare on Friday. I am thinking he will do better than Mommy! :) I am not sure how I will do when he is actually awake when I leave!!!

Happy 4th of July (a day late)!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! It was so nice to get to spend an extra day with the men of my life! We (Matt, me, Kellen and Grandma Dee) started off our 4th of July with the parade in Downtown Woodstock. It is a cute little parade that is used mostly as advertising for the local businesses. It was a lot of fun to watch...Kellen slept through most of the parade until the police came through with their sirens on and he awoke wide eyed! He enjoyed the rest of the parade. The it was back to house to get ready for a few friends! Jennifer, Charles, Glenn and Sarah and Matt's dad joined us for some burgers and good eats! We had plans to attend fireworks, but with Kellen teething and us lacking in the sleep department we decided to stay home. Maybe next year!

Kellen is growing so fast and learning new things everyday. He is so much fun to just watch. He has been teething and I have to say that he has been such a trooper. Both of his bottom teeth are poking through! He has been a little more fussy these days, but who wouldn't be!

Kellen is loving his veggies at night...so far he has tried sweet potato's, squash, carrots, sweet peas, green beans, and just added apple sauce ( I know not a veggie, but I have decided to add some fruit) to the mix. I really don't think that this boy will hate anything! :) He is like a little bird!

He is loving his bath time. We have started letting him sit in the water and he will just splash and kick those legs. It is so much fun to watch him, of course we get just as wet as him! :)

Grandma Dee is watching him this week, so I am sure they will have a lot of fun! I am sure they will read lots of books (one of Kellen's favorite things to do) and go for lots of walks! Kellen loves to be outside. One of his new things is he loves to be upside down. He was crying the other night and I put him upside down and he stopped crying and giggled, then I sat him back up and started crying so I put him upside down and he started giggling! He is a very silly boy! I think he might have his daddy's personality and mommy's temper....hungry or tired...watch out! :)
