5 Months!

If I don't do this now I will never get it done. My baby boy is 5 months old...can you believe it? I can't! I keep wondering where time has gone! Kellen is SO much FUN right now he is changing almost nightly! In the last week has really got the hang of grasping at his toys. Just last week he went from just kind of spinning in his jump-a-roo to full out jumping! It was so funny...he loves that thing! He will sit and giggle to himself! That is another thing that is new...he has always kind of giggled, but in the last week he will now giggle away! He has really mastered the art of rolling over...he can roll from back to tummy and then back to his back...before you know it he is across the floor. Gone are the days where we could just lay him down anywhere! He loves story time! He will of course try to hold the book himself and then he likes to drop it! :) He is growing like a weed. He is in 6-9 month clothing and size 3 diapers! He has now tried Sweet Potato's, Squash, Carrots, and Sweet Peas (and of course rice cereal). He seems to like it all...he is like a little bird when it comes to feeding time. He eats cereal in the morning and a veggie at night! I think I might try some green beans and some sort of fruit out in the near future! The last month has really been a busy one with all sorts of firsts! First road trip, first cereal, fist veggie, first hair cut, first time at the pool, and of course first time with a babysitter all day! He is such a happy baby! Matt and I are really spoiled! He is sleeping anywhere from 7.5 to 9 hours straight at night then he will get up eat and usually sleep a few more hours. Naps are still not his favorite and he will fight them till he just can't keep his eyes open! I think he thinks he will miss something if he closes his eyes! Next stop is working on sitting all by himself! :) Well I must be off to bed! Goodnight all!

Good-Bye Baby...Hello Growing Boy!!!

Before I get into all of Kellen's adventures over the past few weeks I thought I would tell everyone a little about my new job. I am working for a pharmaceutical marketing company...they do a lot of the animations that you see about how a drug works in your body. Other than that I can't tell you much about the creative side. I am on the admin side of the company and am working in the accounts payable department. Everyone is really nice and I am so busy that my days fly by. It is a temporary job for now, but it might turn into something permanent.

For the summer Jerilyn is keeping Kellen while we are at work. Grandma Marquitta will be here next weekend to keep Kellen for a week! It was very easy for me to go back to work knowing that Kellen is loved, happy, and safe with people that I know. Check back with me in August when Kellen starts at daycare. We are so lucky that Kellen gets a little more time at home. Maybe this will help with his immune system and he won't be sick all the time at daycare. :) I doubt it, but here is to hoping! :)

I surprised myself on my first day and did not cry at all...I just keep telling myself every morning to go to work, keep busy and then I get to come home to my little man...so far it is working. Now I have not had a slow day since I have started which I guess is a good thing. :) Other wise I would probably sit and think about wanting to be home with my baby! :)

Enough about me...Now onto the pictures and all of Kellen's new adventures!!!

Kellen's 1st Solid Meal (well sort of solid)!

"Really the Camera again?"

Kellen loves his cereal! From the first spoonful! :) He is like a little bird when he eats...it was so much fun to watch him watch me and the spoon and try to figure out how it all works, but after two days he was a pro! This picture is really his second try at cereal...I was so bummed to find both our camera batteries dead while I was feeding him on his first try!

"I gotta wipe my face!" :)

Kellen's 1st Hair cut! :)

Kellen had lost a lot of his hair and it was looking a little on the scraggly side, SO I decided it was time for a hair cut. Before we did anything we decided to have some fun, so we gave him a mohawk...he really didn't have enough hair, maybe next summer. So for summer we though we would give him a buzz cut! :)

He did pretty good, of course I am not a hairstylist, so there are some long pieces still there...I have been getting out the scissors every time I see a long hair! BUT I think it turned out cute. Grandma Dee says it just doesn't look like Kellen. I was a little in awe that all of his new hair coming in is leaning towards the blonde side. If you can believe Matt was a blonde when he was younger! :)

"All Done...I am ready for summer!"

Kellen's 1st Vegetable!

Kellen has tried Sweet Potatoes and Carrots. I have to say that he does not like the carrots nearly as much as the Sweet Potatoes. :) I do have to say that a lot of ends up on me and the bib! :)

Kellen's 1st time at the Pool!!!

Kellen was a little unsure of the water...but who wouldn't be, it was so cold. It felt really good since it was SO HOT!!! We got him a little floaty, but he would not go in....maybe next time!

This is us after the pool! It was a lot of excitement for the day! As you can tell I got a little too much sun! I don't think I have ever burned so badly. I was so worried about Kellen and the sun and Matt making sure that he had sunscreen on that I never got around to myself! I don't think that I will ever forget again! :)

Indiana Trip!

Kellen in his suit!

This post is WAY over due!!! Life just has not slowed down enough for me to sit down and write about our trip! Kellen did so good in the car, he slept for a good portion of the trip...on the way up to Indiana we made it in 9 hours with an hour stop half way there for lunch! Kellen was probably awake for about 2 of those hours all together and not all at once! Cousin Ansley also did great in the car! She talked to Uncle Matt for a while and it was so cute! :) As for me I read most of the way there...thank goodness I do not get carsick! As for the visit, it was way to fast and filled with family fun!

On Thursday after arriving we had time for a quick shower and then we were off to Russ and Ava's for a quick visit before dinner. Russ and Ava took all of us out for pizza at what Matt calls the BEST pizza ever. It is a place called Arnie's...normally we would bring some back frozen, but there was no room this trip! We were also joined by Matt's uncle Jeff and aunt Marilyn and cousin's Kyle and Kaitlin. It was a lot of fun and the first time Jeff and Marilyn and the kids got to meet Kellen! We were all ready to crash as soon as we got back to the hotel! Kellen did not sleep really great that night, but I think that he was a little confused about his surroundings. So he was up about every hour and the hotel air conditioner sounded like a helicopter landing in our room! Needless to say I did not get a lot of sleep that night!

Friday morning we slept in a little (well Matt and Kellen did)...I did not go back to sleep after Kellen woke up at 5 to eat! We had breakfast with Marquitta and Ansley. Soon it was time to check out and we were heading over to Uncle Jeff's house to see Matt's cousin Jennifer that was not able to come to dinner the night before. It was nice to sit and visit with them. When we left there we had a little bit of time to kill before we needed to head to Turkey Run State Park were Matt's cousin was getting married! So we went to Target and who can not kill some time in there! :) Soon enough it was time to get back in the car to make the hour drive to the Turkey Run. There was this neat little Inn and some cabins that we were all staying at...I do have to say though that if there is a next time that it is a must to stay in the Inn. The cabins are a little rustic and that is putting it VERY nicely! Let's just say that the cabin had an automatic air freshener that you would find in a public bathroom that would go off every 30 minutes or so!

Great Grandma Martha meeting Kellen for the 1st time!

We had time to freshen up a bit and then it was time to head to the rehearsal dinner. They grilled out some hamburgers and hotdogs and all the fixen's! The best part was to get to see everyone! Matt's grandma Martha was there and she got to meet Kellen for the first time. It was so fun! Matt's Uncle Lance and Aunt Tauni was there from California! I so want to go visit them and have told Matt that is where I would like to go to for our 5 year Anniversary! :) It didn't take long for my lack of sleep to soon catch up with me and Matt and I headed back to the cabin to hopefully get some sleep! Kellen slept much better that night and so did I!

On Saturday Matt and Andy went on a canoe trip and Kellen and I hung out outside the inn! It was absolutely beautiful there and the weather was quite nice! :) Kellen and I had lunch with Crystal, Ansley and Marquitta. Matt and Andy got back not long after that and it was time to get ready for the wedding! Kellen looked so cute in his suit! I was so worried how he was going to be at the ceremony...he screamed for an entire hour before the wedding. I felt so bad, because he was so tired and Matt and I were scrambling to get ready. As soon as we started walking to the wedding he fell asleep and slept the entire ceremony! :) The rest of the night was filled with dancing and eating and drinking WAY to much wine! :)

Sunday morning came way to fast and way too early! We hurried and packed up everything and had a little scare as I could not find my wedding ring! But it was exactly where Matt told me to look! Then we were off. It took about 9 hours to get home. Kellen did really well in the car. We didn't make it back in time for the rental car, so we had to pay for an extra day, but oh well, what can you do?

All in all it was a wonderful trip! We had a lot of fun and the car ride was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Thanks for all the prayers for a safe and sane trip! :)

Kellen has had a lot of "firsts" this last week...first cereal, first haircut, first time at the pool, and first time with a babysitter (I got a new job and started last Thursday). So I am hoping to find time later this week to post some cute pictures from all his new "firsts"!!! Until then gave a GREAT week!
