New Cousin & Dr's Visit!!!

We had an exciting weekend! On Sunday we went and got to meet Taylor Eryn, the newest cousin on Matt's side of the family! She is so tiny and too cute for words. Papa, Mimi and Aunt Kaeley were there too. Mimi and Papa could not believe how much Kellen had grown since last time they had seen him. He was happy as could be laying on the floor watching the ceiling fan and talking to Mimi. It was like holding a feather holding Taylor after holding Kellen. He has grown so much that I have almost forgot what it was like the first week home with him, where he was content laying in your arms for hours. Now he is all wiggles. The only time he is still is when he is asleep...I think we may be in trouble once he really starts to move.

Getting to hold Taylor for the first time!

Cousin Madison and Kellen talking to each other!

Taylor (6 days old) & Kellen (2 months & 2 days)

Yesterday we went to the Dr's for Kellen's 2 month check up. I was dreading it all day since I knew that he would be getting shots and he breaks my heart when he cries so hard. I think it is almost harder on mommy then him. But he did very well...Aunt Amanda gave me a good tip and told me to have a bottle ready to go as soon as they were done, so he cried really hard, but as soon as that bottle was in the mouth he calmed right down and was fat and happy afterward. As I have mentioned earlier...Kellen has really grown and yesterday we got to find out how much he really had. Kellen now weighs 14 1/2 pounds and is 25 1/4 inches tall. All I can say is he is one big boy! :)

He is all smiles right now...we are working on the giggles, we have had a few little sounds that might have been giggles, but nothing that can be repeated. He is really trying to roll over...he gets to his side and that is about it. He is growing so fast and time is slipping away. I told my mom that I feel like I already need to start planning his 1st birthday party because it will be here before we know it and then soon he will be off to his first day of school and then graduating high school. Time is going so fast, and I am trying to take in all these special moments and milestones that are happening now and not worry so much about how much time is gone and how fast it went by. Each day I have tried to take 5 minutes to say thank you for all the blessings that I have in my life right now. I am very thankful to have a healthy, happy baby boy, a very loving and patient husband, and I am surrounded by the most wonderful family and friends.

Two Months Old!

I can't believe it...time has gone by so fast. I am already having mixed emotions about my time at home coming to an end. I am excited to get back to work and get back into a routine, but very sad to not be able to stay at home with my little man. But I am trying not to think about it and enjoy the weeks that I have left.

Kellen is growing like a weed. Today we went to the mall with Grandma Dee and Kellen stuck out is bottom lip when he got mad...I wish I could have got it on camera it was priceless. It was a perfect pouting face. He did it again when we got home...I think I may be in trouble if he continues to make that face...how can I say no!!!

The above picture is not the greatest of him...he was hungry so he is about to get really mad before I took the picture. This is his Easter outfit...not that we are going anywhere, but maybe I can talk Matt into going to lunch or something! :) I am excited to take him to the mall and get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny! :)

We have had a quiet last week. I have been just hanging out at home and snuggling with him since it has been so rainy! I miss the sunshine...but I am glad for all the rain, because it will make everything so green and pretty! Kellen now has a new cousin...Taylor Eryn was born on Monday. We are going to meet her on Sunday...We are very excited. Kellen is now surrounded by three girl cousins! I would not be surprised if in the future we get some pictures of Kellen in a princess dress or something! :)

Matt is still working long hours and on the Saturdays, so Kellen and I have been hanging out with Grandma Dee a lot. I am not sure what we would do without her. She has been a HUGE help!!! She has also helped me keep sane with some adult conversation. Amanda and Madison have been a huge help too! I am excited to say now it will be my turn over the next couple of weeks to visit Amanda, Madison and Taylor! Look forward to some cute pictures of the cousins! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Happy Tuesday! The sun is shining and it is beautiful outside. Kellen and I sat outside while he drank his last bottle. The cats are loving hanging out in front of the screen door.

You can tell that Matt and I are new parents, this weekend Grandm
a Dee hung out with Kellen while we were going to go to dinner and a movie. Well about half way through dinner both of us were ready to go home and go to bed! So we just had a nice dinner and then headed home.

On Sunday we got Kellen's pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids. We were a little disappointed with the photographer, but in the end we got some good pictures! :) Here are my favorites...

Kellen at the park!

Well spring was here for a few days this week...While the weather was nice on Wednesday we joined Aunt Amanda and Cousin Madison at the park. Of course Kellen just hung out, but Madison was so much fun to watch.

After we were done at the park we headed over to Mimi's and had lunch and sat on the screened in porch for the rest of the afternoon. It was so nice and I am SO ready for more days like that!

Matt has been working so much lately and is so stressed I thought it would be nice if we got out for a night, so tonight we are headed out for a date. Grandma Dee is having a date with Kellen while mommy and daddy go out! I have to say it will be nice to spend some time with Matt!

A picture that would melt any heart!

I finally caught it on camera...a picture of Kellen smiling! Kellen is such a happy boy in the morning after he wakes up. We will just sit in his room and talk to each other, well more like coo at each other. Then Kellen will smile his smile and get so excited his little legs & arms will start going. It is too cute! Here it is...

Kellen's Adentures

I have been trying to blog for awhile now, but one thing I have learned is I can plan all I want, but Kellen seems to make the plans for the day! :) I wanted to share a few pictures and stories from the last week or so.

A couple of weeks ago, Kellen got to meet Aunt Kaeley for the first time. It was so cute to see them together. Of course Aunt Kaeley thought he was the cutest thing ever and wanted to take him home with her! :)

Aunt Kaeley and Mimi

Grandma Dee had Dr Seuss day at school and they all had to dress up, so she was Cat in the Hat. We thought it would make a cute picture...As you can tell Kellen was like take the picture all ready! :)

Aunt Amanda and Cousin Madison came for a visit last week...I think Kellen is almost as big as Madison at 2 years old! :) I think it is too cute in the picture you can almost here her saying "CHEESE". Kellen slept through everything! :)

We are still working on tummy time! He is liking it a little better. Holly thought that she needed some tummy time too! :) I would say most of his tummy time happens while he is napping on mommy's chest! :) I wouldn't change it for the world!

Charles and Jennifer came over and we ordered in some pizza (The pizza was a "thank you" for helping me out in a not so fun situation...see story below). Charles was too cute with Kellen. He was doing really well until Kellen became a little too smelly for Charles! Kellen is definitely his Daddy's son!

This last weekend Kellen had some great adventures out of the house. On Saturday Grandma Dee and I decided to do some shopping while Daddy was at work. Kellen was being so good and we were able to make all of our stops that we wanted to. At the last stop, Grandma Dee stayed in the car with Kellen to change him and feed him his bottle. I ran into the store and got exactly what I wanted and ran back out. Grandma Dee was able to change him, but I forgot the vent for the bottle so it was leaking all over. We decided that we would just hurry home. At this point it had been almost 4 hours since his last feeding and he was starting to get a little fussy. So I put the bags in the the car and closed the door...at the same time Grandma Dee had thrown the keys onto my seat and closed her door to put Kellen back in his car seat. This is where everything went a little crazy. As I went to open the car door it was locked...and I could see my keys sitting on my seat saying "HA HA"!!! We were locked out of the car...our purses, Kellen's leaky bottle, all locked in the car. At this point I didn't know what to do...so I called Matt who was at work. My mom took Kellen into the store to get him out of the sun and wind. Matt called Pop a Lock who wanted to charge us $60 and would take about an hour to get there. While I was waiting for Matt to call me back, Jennifer just happened to call me at the moment that I was starting to break down. Thank goodness for great friends!!! Charles and Jennifer ran over to my house and got my extra set of keys and an extra bottle. Within about 30 minutes they were there and I was back in my car. Kellen deserves the best baby award...he made it almost 5 hours without eating and he was just a little fussy, but the lights in the store seemed to keep his attention. Poor Grandma Dee felt horrible, but in reality it goes back to me forgetting the vent for the bottle (If I wouldn't have forgot that we would never have been locked out of the car). Needless to say I have now learned my lesson, I now carry an extra bottle with me in my diaper bag to prevent all future mishaps that would involve me forgetting the vent! :)

I can't believe that my leave is already half way over. I am sure the next 6 weeks will go just as fast as the first 6 weeks have. Kellen is growing everyday and so much fun. He is cooing more and more. I have even got a few smiles from him that I swear were the real deal and not just gas! :)

Matt and I had made a deal that once Kellen's room was finished being decorated that we would move Kellen in there. Well Kellen is now sleeping in his own crib in his own room. It seems to agree with him...he is sleeping 5-6 hours, which I am in love with! :) We got him a mobile for his crib and he LOVES it. It is the Fisher Price, Precious Planet projection mobile...It projects lights into a canopy and it is too cute. Once he is a little older we can take off the canopy and it will project the lights onto the ceiling. I will take some pictures and add them to the blog later this week.

The Bears...

Kellen has found the bears on his mobile on the pack-n-play. We have even caught him smiling at them. The bears wind up and play a little tune that I will probably hear in my sleep for the next year or so! :) He will watch them go round and round. When they stop he will let out a cry or a hoot that seems to mean that he would like them to start again, because as soon as we wind it up again he is content and happy cooing to the bears. I will have to see if I can get a good video of Kellen and his bears. The challenge now if to find a mobile for his crib.

He has started to coo and talk a little more each day. He is growing so fast. I can not believe that it has been 5 weeks already. Before I know it my time will be up and I will be back at work.

Kellen is still sleeping in our room and we have now begun the talk about moving him to his room. He loves to lay in his crib and look around, but I think mommy is having issues moving him out of her room. :) It just seems to far away. I told Matt that I would start letting him nap during the day in his crib so that I can get used to using the monitors and he could get used to sleeping in there. Well that has not happened yet...Each morning Kellen I nap together in the recliner and I am not ready to give that nap up yet. My mom says that she feels sorry of the day care when they try to put him down for a nap and he will want to be held the entire nap! I will work on it! Right now I am just enjoying my time with my little man!
